Insulin identified as trigger that causes diabetes

Comment: This may seem glaringly obvious, but it's important none-the-less. Eating simple carbohydrates causes the pancreas to secret enough insulin to lower blood sugar to normal. The more carbohydrates eaten, the move insulin is needed. The simpler the carbohydrate (sugars) the faster and more vigorous is the rise in blood sugar, so the pancreas secretes more insulin. Insulin triggers diabetes. Solution: eat complex carbohydrates only in the form of whole grains and vegetables. Use xylitol to sweeten coffee and tea. Eat good quality protein and fats. Type 2 diabetes should not even exist given these parameters.

Two teams of scientists identified the hormone insulin on Wednesday as the trigger that causes the more severe form of diabetes.
Researchers have been mystified about what makes the body's immune system turn against itself to attack cells in the pancreas that produce insulin, the hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.
Now they believe insulin itself is the key.
