Coffee May Help Prevent Liver Cancer

Note: Before ordering that double ultra grande mocha, please read the article. The coffee appears to be protective at 1-2 cups per day. At 3-4 cups a day, it seems to increase liver cancer risk. Also, this study was from Japan. Decafe is totally unavailable there. Other differences might include the type of roasting techniques being different, amount of sugar and milk added, and quality of the beans. And remember, sitting down at a restaurant with the waiter topping off your cup every few minutes will in a very short amount of time have you drinking far more than just a couple cups.

That hot cup of coffee may do more than just provide a tasty energy boost. It also may help prevent the most common type of liver cancer. A study of more than 90,000 Japanese found that people who drank coffee daily or nearly every day had half the liver cancer risk of those who never drank coffee.
