Amyloid-Alpha May Be a Better Marker of Coronary Artery Disease Than CRP 

Serum amyloid-alpha (SAA) may represent a stronger predictor of major cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) than C-reactive protein (CRP), according to a new study. Unlike CRP, the risk associated with SAA is independent of angiographically documented CAD, traditional risk factors and comorbid conditions.
