Phytochemicals May Protect Cartilage and prevent pain. 

Note: broccoli and other cruciferous plants like Kale, Collard Greens, cauliflower, and brussle sprouts are excellent sources of the phase 2 enzymes.

Johns Hopkins researchers have discovered that plant- derived compounds known for their ability to protect tissue also appear to block the activity of an enzyme that triggers inflammation in joints.
